    Why do we have Law?

Ensuring that no human should harm, deprive of worldly possessions, restrict, or incarcerate another is the primary function of law, and itself has as it's essence 'natural law'.

So the codifying of the ways that human beings live and work with one another, and treat one another so as to embody all of this in a uniform is the first and natural way.

These laws should ensure fair and even rules are applied in theconduct of people with one another and of carrying out business.

    Laws have no other purpose.

Various descriptions of law are given in different sources:

~"a body of unchanging moral principles regarded as a basis for all human conduct."

~"Natural law is a philosophy asserting that certain rights are inherent by virtue of human nature, endowed by nature—traditionally by God or a transcendent source—and that these can be understood universally through human reason. "

    Local law is .... ?

Depending upon the nation or locale this may differ, and the range and breadth of diffence can be ... breathtaking!

For human beings the best ways may be 'common law', as in English common law, which as in King Alfred's day was comprised of the common man or woman's daily ways and methods of making livelihood.

    Local and Non-Local
(Scale may play a part in this)

Bettina Arndt has a go at virtue-signalling men allowing women into Men's Sheds

Here we see an effect of external circumstances on local effects, or effects as experienced locally.

Regionally, local means closer than the rest of the region.

Cosmologically the relationship remains the same because the relationship is the same, only the scale is different.

It is therefore true to say that local and none local are relative.
