Some of the medical psychological research carried out at the Tavistock Institute in the 1930's is thought to underlie some of the methods of teaching by Common Purpose, founded by Julia Middleton in the 1980's.
The connection between the Tavistock Institute and aspects and facets of WW2 are quite numerous. After a young man, a corporal from the German army, visited a relative in Liverpool, England, after WW1 the man disappeared from known history until the late 1920's. His name was Adolph Hitler, and it is thought that he may have spent this time at the Tavistock Institute.
