War - Armed
Civil War?
Between people of a nation, and taking place within the nation.
Traditionally this has always been armed warfare, using weapons.
International War?
Between people of separate nations: contest between one or more nations fighting as allies on one side against one or more nations fighting on the opposing side.
Weapons and psychology in War
War may appear to have consisted from the earliest times as traditionally armed war, and being perhaps caused by a contest to possession of territory.
However, at least from very early on in human history psychology played a substantial role in war. Since in the animal world we may observe psychology and emotion affecting what the contestants do, how they react, and therefore what tactics they use, it is more likely that there is no war or contest that is based on arms alone.
