What is Feudal ?

  1. Most often feudal, or a feudal system, exists under a monarch or emperor, and is structured based upon acts of loyalty by individuals to the leader, emperor, or king or queen, and the individuals rewarded by granting of land, power, or authority to administer.
  2. The administration of governance is absolute and is enforced by the loyal subjects, but this may at times in or throughout history be challenged by the otherwise loyal administrators.

England evolved over the centuries folllowing the Norman Conquest in 1066 from a basic feudal system to one governed through a system of democracy under the protection of a crown in a way that ultimately was unique, throughout which evolution the English Common Law survived, although at all times remaining under attack from self interested careerist elites.
